My approach

As a psychodynamic counsellor, my approach is grounded in psychoanalytic theory.

I am interested in how our earlier experiences and relationships can influence the way we think, feel and relate to ourselves and others in the present. Counselling provides a space to reflect on these experiences and consider how they may continue to influence us, sometimes in ways that are not immediately apparent.

The pace and focus of counselling will vary from person to person. I aim to provide a consistent and confidential setting where you can speak openly and take the time to explore what is important to you.

What may bring people to seek counselling

You may be experiencing anxiety or low mood, living with the effects of trauma, or finding relationships difficult to navigate. You may be struggling with food or body image, adjusting to physical illness, or coming to terms with loss or bereavement. Perhaps you are going through a period of change, facing difficult life choices, or finding yourself caught in thoughts and feelings that are hard to understand. Sometimes, you may simply feel that things are not quite as you would like them to be, without knowing exactly why.
