About me

Hello, I'm Rebecca.

Rebecca Rodgers, psychodynamic counsellor

I have over 20 years' experience working in a variety of roles across mental health services. Throughout my career, I have worked in NHS inpatient services, secure mental health services and therapeutic charities, supporting people experiencing a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties. My diverse clinical experience has given me the privilege of working with people from many different backgrounds and life experiences, reinforcing my belief that every person's story is unique and deserves to be understood in its own context.

As a psychodynamic counsellor, my approach is grounded in psychoanalytic theory, which understands that our present experiences are often influenced by earlier relationships, unconscious patterns and life experiences. I offer a safe, reflective and compassionate space where we can explore these experiences together, helping you to develop a deeper understanding of yourself and the patterns that shape your life.

How I work

A steady, reliable space

  • Once weekly
  • 50-minute sessions
  • In person
  • Same time each week

Initial consultations

Before beginning ongoing counselling, I invite you to attend two initial consultation sessions. These meetings give us the opportunity to think together about what has brought you to therapy, what you are looking for, and whether we feel that working together is the right fit.

Ongoing counselling

If we decide to continue, counselling is open-ended, with no pre-determined number of sessions. Rather than working towards a fixed end date, we allow the process to develop naturally, making space for what emerges and reviewing the work together as it unfolds.

Guided by your needs

The pace and depth of therapy will always be guided by your individual needs. My role is to offer a reliable, confidential and containing space in which you can feel able to speak freely and explore your inner world.
